Interview (MediasRes) of: Twister

Handle:
Twister

City / Country:
Jakan / Sweden

Born year:
1974

What was your first computer, and when did you get it?

A C64... Uhmm... Must have been back in 83..
The first Amiga I bought in 1987 (A500)

How did you get into the scene and what groups have you been a
member of ?

Got into the scene in 1987 when I just had bought my Amiga. A friend
of mine (Goblin) was involved with Byterapers and he asked me to
start mailtrading. I didn't succeed. I was far too lazy! I went on
playing games and stuff until about 1990. I then started working at
a computer and games store in Stockholm. Got hold of a couple of
originals which I supplied to Defjam. I stayed in Defjam a while
modemtrading. When Gehenna, the main organizer, got busted in 1992
I went over to Agile. Didn't stay there too long.

Me and a couple of old mates (Mr.T, TCM & Joker + Tripwire) decided to bring
Razor 1911 back to life. At this time I opened my BBS, Flashback,
and things went on fine until Mr.T got some troubles with
Electronic Arts and shit. Razor switched names to Atlantic and I
went my own way. Stayed independent for a while until I met some
fellows at a Party in Norway. We reorganized parts of Vision,
changed names to Diamonds & Rust, released a couple of games.
Then all of a sudden I fell deeply in love. Forgot all about
computers. I even sold my old beloved A2000. Cevin Key, who by
that time was known as a local looser, bought (!) my Flashback
User.Data. In Autumn 1993 I bought a 486. BLAH! SHIT!! My biggest
mistake.

In 1994 I so much longed back to the scene that I bought
an A3000. Started up Flashback again since Cevin Key disappeared
under some weird circumstances. Was asked to join Dual Crew Shining
and I agreed. Some other groups asked to join Flashback as HQ,
Origin, Invasion, Rebels and some ascii group.
In August 1995 Flashback was struck by lightning.
I had a new job and didn't have much interest/time to open it all
up again. Well, back to realtime. Flashback is planned to be put
back online Spring 1996. So Beware!!

What was the proudest moment in your career ?

When I first opened Flashback and got my first bunch of users
(45 users first day!)

For what specific reason(s) do you think that you are remembered ?

Coolness... Nah! Honestly I dunno. Always been a friendly guy doing
my thing. Helpfull.

What would you like to be remembered for ?
As I am

What made you stop the scene activity ? (and do you remember when?)

Who said I stopped?!
