Lyzzard
Name, birthday, origin:
Alex Badarin, 06.06.1988, Russia
Group, ex-group(s):
Cornercut
What was your first group, your role in that group and what did that group produce?:
Russian-based tracker group called Cornercut - musician (it, xm, v2m, mp3...), the group now went a bit underground, but that's a matter of time
What motivates you to spend time on the scene?:
Hmm... I would say, lifelong lust for music. And i really enjoy everything scene-related, and besides it's a nice place for people sharing similar interests
What is your favorite color?:
Pure blue (#0000FF)
On what platform(s) did you begin your computing journey, and when was this?:
Oh, that's been around 1992 when my father got a Soviet (not Russian, it's important ) ZX-Spectrum clone titled "Duet" and put together a joystick for it, i enjoyed playing Exolon, learning programming in BASIC (no FOR, no WHILE, no SELECT... gosh, that was some uber pwnage)... Then in 1995 i'd got my first PC (486DX 60MHz 4Mb 100Mb)
What platform(s) do you use now?:
PC with Windows, though i'm open to switching to Linux just as soon as Russia joins the EU ;D
What is/are your favorite piece(s) of music(s) - from a demo production or a scener (released outside of a demo)?:
Demo - really hard to choose one... So i'll just pick the first one i've seen - Heaven7 by Exceed, that Shaman's tune is just marvelous
Standalone - definitely, Beyond the network by Skaven, that's a true masterpiece (although it's from a game but you didn't specify that )
What is/are your favorite picture(s) - from a demo production or a scener(released outside of a demo)?:
Demo - hm, what is a "picture" then? I suppose you're talking about old demos which showed static gfx during precalc phases... Then it's Skaven's picture from Second Reality
Standalone - My city by Visualice
What music program are you using the most to express yourself? Why?:
The wonderful ModPlug Tracker (now OpenMPT) by Olivier Lapicque, not that it's the most powerful or fast... It's just my subjective attitude towards it (read: this thing rockz )
Which composer, artist or group of the real life did inspire you most?:
Skaven
Also Dune, Md, Neogen, Platosha and many others...
Do you play any instrument? Which?:
Piano (learned since being 4 years), violin (musical school, unfinished), going to get a bass guitar soon... Oh and there's even a harmonica i'm taking with myself when travelling long distance
Which project that you worked on was the most exciting and interesting for you? And why?:
PHP forum engine i did in 2005
Nah, i guess that was Tigoro's birthday intro coded by BiTL, with my music, written throughout the night the intro was due - actually it was that, which got me all started...
What is your favorite demo, intro, megademo, retrogame, slideshow, musicdisk, diskmag, wilddemo?:
Demo - fr-041 Debris by Farbrausch
Intro - Heaven7 by Exceed
Megademo - My own bullet of autumn by Crolyx
Retrogame - Arkanoid (wish i had an Amiga back in the days...)
Slideshow - fr-minus
Musicdisk - Melancholik EP by Park
Chipdisk - Autumn leaf by Skuter (aka Lamb)
Diskmag - Incube by 7dump
Wilddemo - fr-05 Konsum by Farbrausch (yeah, i'm a true fan of them)
Discuss: minimalistic demos, cracktros, fucktros, joke demos, lamers, compo winners at big parties, demotools, diskmags, chiptunes, glenz vectors, programming languages, photoshop, textmode:
You're kidding? Fuck you
Textmode rulez nevertheless (hey why there's no textdemo listed in Q12? If there was, it should be TMDC'05 invitation by Sol&Skaven)
What percentage of modern demos are 3d flybys?:
Err, about 60%, i guess
What percentage of older demos are the same effects recycled?:
90%, if you take the whole grey mass, not only the ones remembered nowadays
What platform(s) needs more demos?:
Definitely Linux (Mac OS X does count, too)
Which parties do you intend to go to, and which parties would you like to go to? Please describe your personal experiences with your most favourite or impressive party you have ever been at.:
Well, the only party i've been to so far was Chaos Constructions'06 (the last REAL CC), would like to visit Breakpoint or Assembly one day... The closest upcoming event i'm going to is DiHalt'08 and i've got lots of entries there hehe
How did the scene alter since you are taking an active part in it? Can you explain why?:
Can't tell for sure since it's been only a year or so... But it feels like it's getting less active in Europe, that's too bad
What are your dreams/goals in life, did scene help you and have you achieved them yet?:
I'll leave this question for a while, just superstitious
Finally, do you have some special greetings? Feel free to add links to your graphics, screenshots of effects, modules or other pieces of your work.:
