Diskdrive With 20MB
by Chester/Brainstorm

Bramall, the manager of the hardwarehouse CITIZEN, was interviewed by Computer-Live and translated from German to English by CHESTER of BRAINSTORM.

The japanese firm CITIZEN will soon produce a little sensation: A 3.5" diskdrive with legendary 20 MByte memory. Roy Bramall looks for this production. Here is a little interview with him:

- Is your super-diskdrive a futur-vision or is it rality?
- When our constructors began with their work I was doubtful. But you can look at it if you want to: It works!

- How can you manage it to get a disk with 20 times more memory than on a normal disk?
- The disks looks only normal. The difference to a normal 3.5" disk is that the ours won't be sell in boxes of 10 in the shops but they will be formated by our own and will come as single disks in the shops. The drive has got new and better read/write-head for a much denser recording.

- Where are the limits of this new technology?
- Counterquestion: Would you have thought 2 years ago that there would be 20 MByte disks?
