We need more voluntary writers - by Gone/Scarab
Publication: unknown

The sentence above is actualy from an email that I received from Zito in which he says that Pain, JP and even other diskmags need more voluntary writers, in diskmags today you see that several writers write a bunch of articles every issue. And to Zito's opinion (and I agree) is this not attractive to read a diskmag.

I can understand that if you read 3 articles from a certain writer in a diskmag that you may decide with the 4th one, well let's do something else, reading 4 articles from one particular writer is not what I was waiting for.

And sure, writers are born to write! But wouldn't it be better and more interesting for a diskmag and the scene when more various sceners (who don't even have to be writers) wrote an article and tell the scene what they think, do, or feel about certain subjects.

These articles don't have to be that long, try to create an interview, or write down your ideas about the scene, or reply on another article that you read. It can be easy when you try it!

The scene is always lacking support these days, so mags can be filled with articles from the same writers every time they get released, and this is not the way it was ment to be! Diskmags should reflect the scene in total and not only through the
minds and eyes of a few writers.

Maybe some of you are afraid to write and think others will make fun of you when your article isn't good enough, but every writer started with that feeling. The feeling of being laughed at or making a fool of yourself when you try to do something to give the scene more colour again. In my eyes you earn respect when you try to bring the scene more flavour and new inspiration. Perhaps you'll get some critics, but you'll also get nice words and appreciation from other sceners.

And to those sceners I can only say that if you send your articles to the staff of which diskmag you may choose, and you ask them what they think about it and if it is useful, they will not laugh at you! They will tell you the truth and encourage you to write some more and help you wherever they can. Anyway I would and I hope I am not wrong when I say that other editors or main editors do the same.

The scene needs more variation and more colour, and we don't get it when writers, write 5 or more articles each issue of a diskmag.

Perhaps this question is a question that has been asked before, and this question has also been asked to me. I once got asked to write some articles, and yes, I also feared to be burned down to the ground, but instead of bad critics I got useful help and this made me write more and more, and still I write with pleasure.

Together with Zito and much more sceners I would like to ask this question to you dear reader, why not try to write something, something interesting, something long, something short, something with critics, something to reply, something to inspire the scene.

Like I said this question has been asked before and normally not much sceners reply to it, but I do my best in trying to get more writers for any diskmag they want to write for. So let the next diskmag releases be filled with more writers as ever before and let sceners react on that by writing reply articles. Wouldn't that be what a diskmag is all about?

Reactions, reply's, discussions this what we need, no dusty articles from the same writers over and over again, we need some fire, some spirit, some new blood. So please give us your feedback in article style, or give your important thoughts or anything that has to do with the scene to the staff of a diskmag and make the diskmags more spectacular then they ever were.
