LETTER SUPPORTING MY VIEW¹

I take the liberty of publishing parts of a letter received by Milkshake/Kefrens

was about to be formed, the danish leader of PARADOX (Midnight Maniac)
Phoned: PROMAX, METALLION and DETRON - He told them about HIS (!) new
group which he said would be the BEST group ever. He also told them that
his group would knock everybody else's socks off. So he convinced the
before mentioned KEFRENS members that the only group worth beeing a member
of, in the future would be the "elite only" group - PARADOX.
And what happend - They joined the fucking group the very next day! SHIT!
KEFRENS DIED !!!!!!!!!!!!!
BUT I (Yes, MILKSHAKE) Re-founded KEFRENS one day later.
I also found a couple of new cool members.
Anyway, only 2 (Yes, T W O) days later PROMAX, METALLION and DETRON called
me and asked if they could join KEFRENS again - I said YES, but asked them
WHY? Well they had been thinking alot lately, they said. And they had
come to the conclusion that you should give FRIEND-SHIP and FUN a higher
priority than SPEED and FAST-CRACKS. (HOW TRUE!!!)
So they joined KEFRENS again, and they will NEVER leave anymore.

CRYPTOBURNERS - The Full Story¹

SOME POETRY!

Yo, all you little heavyhairs, not to speak of all you blockbrains. This is
the (as always) very great Fallos. The reason why I'm writing this, is that
there was only one (!) great article in the last pissue of 4TH DIMENSION, so I
decided to write one for this issue too. To be honest, it is a very nice thing
of me to do..... You really should apreciate it, Cryptoburners.
As the rather smart ones of you may have discovered (don't be sorry if you
didn't, Jackdick, 'cos I didn't expect you to), this article is called
'SOME POETRY'. So, here we go with the first one. It is in norwegian, but that
really doesn't matter 'cos most of you people are norwegians. Cryptoburners
don't have that many foreign contacts.

to the subject of this time's CodersCorner; ¢Rotations & Vector Graphics¹

¡ðVECTOR GRAPHICS¹

In the last year the popularity of using 3D structures and algorithms in games
and demos has grown extremely fast. Nowadays must a demo, if it is to be con-
sidered good, contain some form of 3D calculations. Normal Vectors (3D & 2D),
filled vectors, 3D starfields, chessfields, vectorbobs etc. is some examples of
such effects. The realm of computercalculated 3D graphics is very impressing,
and the maths lieing behind these considerations may look complex to those not
having been in touch with the phenomena. ²BUT, if you dare¹ to use some time,
studying the basics of 3D programming, you will soon find that it is really
quite simple.

THE SIMPLICITY OF ROTATION¹

Whenever 'vectors' are mentioned, the word 'rotations' follow. The object of
vectorgfx is not to display still-pictures in a 3D perspective, but to display
the shape from different angles of view. In demos this is done in a geometric
way as the object is 'rotated' around the three axis, creating a live animation.
In order to achieve this, we must first find a formula for adding an angle ±V°,
ofcourse relative to a given centre, to a given point P(x,y). To be able to do
this, we must know some facts about the general Sinus and Cosinus to the angle.
Now look at the illustration above. Of the drawings, you (should) understand
that in a circle of radius 1.0, the definition of Sinus is: ²Sin V = Y/hypotenus.¹
That is: ²Y = Sin V/1 => Y = Sin V¹. The same for Cosinus: ²Cos V = X => X = Cos V¹.
This is general forms and is true for any radius by multiplying the coordinates
with the radius. We want to find a formula for rotating the P(x,y) ±V°: By
studying the drawings and known rules for Sin/Cos we find this formula: Rotating
±V° gives us new coords (origo centered): ²P(X,Y)=(X*CosV-Y*SinV,X*SinV+Y*CosV).

USING THE KNOWHOW IN 3D LIFE¹

Ok folks, now we know how (rim & rytme) to rotate a point 2 dimensional. The
nice thing is that we now also know how to rotate points with 3 coords. When we
rotate a 2D point, we really do nothing but rotating the point in the XY-plane
of the 3D coordinate system! By using our formula on the YZ- and XZ-plane too,
we have rotated the point P(x,y,z) an angle V(XY-angle), U(YZ-angle) and an
angle W(XZ-angle)! So there you are, simple isn't it? The complete algorithm is:

Starting point P(x,y,z) - Ending point: P(X,Y,Z):
V = XY angle
U = YZ angle
W = XZ angle
(x0,y0,z0) are just helping points

(x0,y0) = (x*CosV-y*SinV,x*SinV+y*CosV)
