Interview (MediasRes) of: Liteace/Dexion

Handle:
Liteace

How did you come up with your alias ?
Well, people have always accused me of stealing it from a Toyota, but I made actually it up myself and then later discovered that Toyota also named one of their vans Liteace.

City / Country:
Silkeborg / Denmark

Born year:
1972

What was your first computer, and when did you get it?
Commodore VIC-20 and I believe I got it in 1983.

How did you get into the scene and what groups have you been a member of ?
I can't really remember how I got into the scene. I guess it was when I started making some really poor demos on the 64 that only contained music (ripped from a game) and then a simple scroll.

The first 'real' group I was a member of was The Game Busters 1541. Then I was member of several other groups whose names I have forgotten about long ago, but I ended up being a member of the 2000 A.D. Then I bought an Amiga and joined Dexion.

What was the proudest moment in your career ?
At the BAmiga Sector One party where our Mega Demo 1 won the competetion. We worked long and hard on the party to finished before the deadline, both Mega Mind and I worked for 36 hours with no sleep.

For what specific reason(s) do you think that you are remembered ?
AcePlotter! A demo I made on the C64. I still meet people who, when I tell them my handle, can remember me for that demo. I even saw the AcePlotter demo on an internet site recently, together with a lot of other cool demos (I believe the site was called SharkBite ! Real nice site)

What would you like to be remembered for ?
For contributing to the C64 and Amiga scene! Or something !?!??

What made you stop the scene activity ? (and do you remember when?)
Basically I grew up !

Thinking back on the good old days, is there anything you regret?
I regret being so fucking arrogant !!! As I mentioned above, I recently saw one of my own demos from the C64, and the scroll text was the most arrogant bullshit I ever read. I think that was just the tone at that time, but still a bit stupid!

What was your favorite
DEMO(S)

1001 Crew and their Sideborder demos ! They were real hardcore!
Some of the Scoop demos like That's just the way it is !
Think Twice 1 - ? from the Judges
Finnish Gold made some nice ones to

PROGRAMMER(S) (OR PROGRAMMING TEAM(S))
Of those I can remember, it must be the guys from 1001 Crew, The Judges

CRACKER(S) (OR CRACKING GROUP(S))
Can't remember any ! I never really had a favorite ?

COMPOSER(S)
Future Freak, Rob Hubbard, Martin Galway, JCH, Jereon Tel -there were a lot of good composers. Uhh oh and of course Laxity !

BEST COMPOSED TRACK(S)
A lot of the tracks from Rob Hubbard but I can't remember their names ! The track from The Green Beret by Martin Gallway

EVENT(S) (E.G. COPYPARTY)
The Dexion Party in Nykobing Sjalland / Denmark (the first party I ever attended)

The BAmiga Sector One party in Fredericia / Denmark. Everybody knew each other !

MEMORY(S)
! ?? !!!? Who me !

DRINK ?
It must be something as boring as a cold beer !

What are you doing nowadays ?
Studying ! I'll be finished in November 96 !

What are you doing on your spare time?
Playing Basketball, programming and playing on my PC and of course 'playing' with my girlfriend.

Is there anything you'd like to say to the public (read: admires)
Thanks for paying attention !

What is the meaning of life?
Damn' I forgot !? I thought I had it, but it slipped !!!!!
