Interview With Rebels

Interview with Jake (Jacob) of REBELS by Truxion of Brainstorm.

How old are you?
-16 years old.

When did you buy your first Amiga?
-Well, actually I still got it. But I bought it about two years ago.

A few sentences about the Rebels' history.
-Rebels was founded at the BS1 party in Denmark 1989 as a co-operation between Roadrunnes and Chaos. Later, some guys left and some joined us. We are now about 13 members in Denmark, but we have also members in Sweden, Belgium and Yugoslavia.

Some words about your members and their functions in the group.
-Nearly all of us swap. But we have also some very qualified coders, musicians and gfx artists. We always use our own music and graphics.

What do you think about the first issue of ZINE?
-It was neat. But there weren't enough scene reports, and I think some of the articles was a bit boring. But overall it was good.

Is Rebels only a democrew or have you also other projects for next year?
-It's true we are most known for our demos. But also swap a lot, and in the future we hope to release some trainers and imports.

What's your favorite drink (wihtout alcohol,he he) and eat?
-Pepsi! The taste of a new generation together with a couple of cheese burgers (McDonalds).

Your favorite music? Last bought LP/CD?
-The last album I bought was by the Rainmakers. They are really good, especially live. I like most music except pop from Stock, Aitken and Waterman. They are the worst thing which has happended to music.

What's your prefered holiday- place?
-Hawaii, but I've never been there.

Look back on 1989. What was positive or negative for you in this year on the Amiga-scene?
-Positive: Our megademo, Red Sector's and me buying Populous.
Negative: The democompetition at the Spectre ^ Northstar party.

Tell us something about your local Amiga-scene.
-A lot of lamers who think Quartex is a city in Russia. They only use their Amiga to play games - boring.

Best joke you've ever heard.
-Silents Dk's scrolltext about us.

Are you interested in politics?
-Of course. I really think it's great what's happening in Russia,DDR and so on. Fuck the Chinese leaders.

What was the last party you have been to?
-The Spectre ^ Northstar party in Sweden. I'm still thirsty.

What about the Bamiga-Party, did you hear something about it? (What's happened to Quartex ? )
-I've heard about it from our Belgian members. They were almost caught. I'm glad I didn't come. I don't know what's happened to Quartex. But they are still the best crackers.

What's your slogan?
-Don't know. Maybe: Rebels - The revolution has begun.

Do you like TV commercials?
-Yeah, it's great - as long as it changes. I like the ads with sexy underwear.

What about the TV series Dallas or Dynasty?
-Boring. Luckily I got better things to do.

Who came up with the groupname Rebels?
-Droopy. We were sitting in the train which took us to the Danish BS1 party and we hadn't any name. So we just took it.

How long did Droopy code on his last great demo?
-Some months. Not full-time of course. He's still under eduaction.
