Echo is a new sound engine for the SEGA Mega
Drive / Genesis game system, developed by Sik.
Its aim is to be a freely available homebrew
sound / music engine that runs entirely on
the z80 and allows complete control over the
YM2612 and PSG sound chips.
* Supports all FM & PSG channels.
* Supports PCM at 11KHz despite only using the Z80
* PSG Volume control using Envelopes
* SFX can play while BGM gets played, interesting
for games, and once SFX is done, the BGM can use
the channels again (Intellignent SFX control)
* and a lot more I am too lazy to put in this NFO...
This tune is the very first publically shown
tune that fully utilizes this engine and:
It is also the very first publically shown tune
that uses ALL of the ten sound channels available
on the Mega Drive / Genesis system!
* Sound produced using: EchoTool v0.5a by Oerg866
* Run the binary in an emulator or on real hardware :)
Because it has some graphical VU meters to spice things
up :D (Too bad they aint gonna show it on the big screen..)
PLEASE NOTE: The tune will sound out of tune (haha pun)
on Kega Fusion, so please use Regen or real HW :P ...
* Please DO note that neither Echo nor EchoTool are
released as of Revision 2011.
I do not know when he will release the stuff tho...
And as long as Echo isnt released, there is no
reason to release the tool to make music with it
either :D
But:
Please, to respect his work, do not rip the z80
engine nor disassemble it.
That's it so far !
Cheers to all Revisionists,
