[ Remix64 ]
ROTY voting is closed!
There you go. The voting for the ROTY Awards 2006 is now closed. We're currently counting the votes and preparing the ROTY Awards Show that will be aired at 20:00 CET on Sunday, 21st of January 2006 on SLAY Radio.

The show will be hosted by the fresh and upcoming DJs of the Double Dutch Friday shows. The main hosts will be Erwin 'Tron' Beekveld and Marcel Donné and to an 80% certainty, a third host, namely Reyn Ouwehand, will also join. Expect this show to give you some hours worth of pure aural pleasure when the Dutchies gives you a rundown of what has happened remixwise in the year of 2006 when it comes to contributions from remix.kwed.org, c64audio.com, amigaremix.com and of course remix64.com.

We thank you all for your votes and for helping us out to make these ROTY Awards the biggest so far.

Now, set your alarm clocks to 19:55 CET on the 21st of Jan and be prepared for the Dutch flooding your airwaves with the best and greatest remixes of 2006 in the great C64 and Amiga community we have going on here.

CSS Crap Game Compo 2006

[ raww.org ]
CSS Crap Game Compo 2006
In theory, the deadline for entries to the 2006 CSS Crap Game Compo passed a few days ago, tho' there's nothing on the site to say that's actually the case. Either way, you can go there now to check out the games in preparation for the voting, which I guess will be announced fairly soon.
I know what you're all wondering... where's the entry from icabod? Well, it's not complete. December was very busy for me and I didn't have chance to get the final little bit of code working. I think my mistake was trying to make the game crap but in a "good" way. Maybe I'll get a chance sometime soon to finish it and release it to the masses for fun. Hell, maybe I'll be able to release it at the upcoming raww.orgy? Eh?

Raww: Happy Birthday to... Us!

[ raww.org ]
Happy Birthday to... Us!
I'm not sure that it's "official" as such, but I've just spotted Gasman's comment to a recent article where he mentions that... the ZX demoscene is 20 years old! I'm not sure how accurate that is, but apparently Coolguys Ltd claim that they released the first ZX Spectrum demo during Christmas 1986... 20 years ago. I'm sure there will be people who will disagree, stating that there was probably a biiiig cracking scene before then, but it's the closest we get to a real birthdate of the scene as we know it.
So happy (belated) birthday to us. Have a beer.

$100 Reward for C64 Game

[ C= Homestead ]
$100 Reward for C64 Game
From John Nagle:

My brother and I wrote a game called "No Joker Poker" back in the 1980's. Our memory of the details seems to be fading a bit...but we purchased an ad in a magazine (which we believe strongly was "Compute's Gazette") sometime between 1984 and 1986. We sold a grand total of 10 copies. Our own copies and all our magazines were lost in a house fire.

Naughty Crew released their latest demo

[ raww.org ]
Naughty Crew released their latest demo
Noby Noblnoch whom you can know also under nick Aragorn/Naughty Crew released a new old-skool demo called 10 Years Naughty Crew as an anniversary of ten years existence of this group. The code was done by Noby, music is by X-Agon, the picture made Factor6 (does anyone know him?) and the jokeful Czech text is written by Johny-X. The demo has been released just after Christmas, but the idea came from Factor6 (again... I think this mate has something to do with Speccy!) but Noby coded it just during Christmas and the final release is out! So switch your Speccy on and enjoy Czech it out! Hmm, crap... noooo!!!
