Raww.org, the most active ZX Spectrum scene news site, will organize the third raww.orgy party in Somerset (England) during Feb.9~11. Here're the rules for the AY Music Competition:

Tune should last no longer than 5 minutes.
(if we get bored, we may stop your tune early - heehee).
If the music loops, let us know how long it lasts up to the loop.
Tunes should be provided in the following formats:
any format playable by AY-3-8910/12 Emulator
Entries will be played on a real ZX Spectrum, probably converted to .vtx format (coz it's easy) unless you provide a player.

Entries are accepted until the morning of Saturday 10th February 2007.

Just saw a link posted in the WOS forums about an AY Player for Symbian mobile phones. It's probably been around for ages but not having one of these phones I'll have ignored it. Yes, I'm quite the news hound. It actually plays C64 SIDs and Amiga MODs too, so if you have a compatible phone it's certainly worth a look. Maybe I should contact Orange about an upgrade? Hmm.

Clarín, one of the most popular newspaper in Argentina, featured current chip music movement and artists on Nov.17th. According to Neotericz of Gainlad, the article mentioned local acts such as 8GB, Coleco Music and himself, as well as "8bit Operators" project, 8bitpeoples, Atari, Gameboy, Sidstation and Commodore 64.
