Daniel Botz, lecturer in medium organization at Institut für Kunstpädagogik der LMU München in Germany attained a doctorate last year with a work covering computer demos. It is the first detailed scientific representation of the demoscene phenomenon in the German language, on a multiyear stocktaking of numerous scene productions from the beginning of the Cracker culture up to the 4k-Intros of the last few years. The media teacher addresses his research to readers who are interested in medial art and digital culture. Daniel Botz was himself active in the late eighties, doing music for the Amiga.
